UA alum Todd Pletcher has become one of the world's best horse trainers. A graduate of the UA's Race Track Industry Program (RTIP), Pletcher's horses were top in the nation last year, winning $17.5 million. The UA's program was the first in the country and remains one of the few programs to offer students education for careers in horse training, animal care and management and race track marketing and management. Not all RTIP graduates become nationally known, but 90 percent of them gain employment in their field. "I am thrilled when one of our graduates makes it to the top," says Director Doug Reed. "But I am equally pleased when I meet our graduates at national conferences and know that our program set them up for success."
