Evening of Excellence is an annual ceremony revolving around
campus involvement through leadership that includes dinner, entertainment, and
the distribution of awards and scholarships. The highlights of the ceremony
include the announcement of new members of UA honorary clubs such as Sophos
sophomore class honorary, Chain Gang junior class honorary, and the Mortar Board
and Bobcats senior honoraries. Other highlights include the presentation of
major scholarship awards and awards given to an outstanding faculty member who
contributes a great deal to the many traditions at the UA. A keynote speaker
kicks the dinner ceremony off followed by the awards and scholarship portion of
the evening. This is one of the oldest and most prestigious annual events at the
UA, and it attracts 350 of the brightest students and faculty that the university
has to offer.
