Minutes for 7/26/98 at John P.’s House
Meeting called to order at 4:20 p.m.
Elizabeth-Anne Rowe appointed temporary secretary.

Old business:
- Andy B. will talk to Jim Livengood
re: Alumni Band activities.
- Pre-Picnic newsletter/Early Homecoming registration
- Discussion of sending 1st class or bulk mailing
- Proofing will be done by Andy B. & Lee O.
- Dave O. will have it done and sent by Mon. 8/3/98
- a copy to Gary S. to have it posted onto the UAAB website
- Pride/UAAB Annual Picnic is set for Sunday 8/30/98, 11 am - 5 pm
- Andy B. will do a reminder at the 8/29 marching band rehearsal
- Possibility of others doing reminders throughout the week
- Copies of the UAAB By-laws distributed to all members
- Relationship with TBS/KKPsi
- Elizabeth-Anne will get a list of the officers w/e-mails to
Andy B. and the Alumni committee and a list of the last three
years of new initiates to Gary S.
New Business:
- Give any PROD ideas to KKPsi/TBSigma
- Next meeting scheduled for Sun. 8/16/98 at (Coffee etc. or in the
Music Bldg. around 2/3 pm) to coincide with the Marching Bands
group meeting (Andy will call to confirm)
- Discussion re: band camp
- find out the ice provider to the U of A to get the rehearsals
supplied with ice, there is a lack of water at the rehearsals
- Dave O. will get the Alumni contact to the Pride
- Discussion re: Dave B. needing to set-up the Alumni Band as a
standing committee for events, focusing on goals and prices
- Andy B. will ask Jay about:
- what Alumni Band will be asked to play for during the Winter Break (M/W B-ball, V-ball, etc.)
- having a list of current Pride members that will be in town & playing for those gigs
- Possibility of a standing Alumni Band to perform at events brought
about by the Alumni Association (also w/ them)
- Traveling/Mercenary Band - Dave O. will ask Dave B. about proper
authorization needed
- Pride/UAAB Annual Picnic:
Sunday 8/30/98, 11-5, expecting 250-300 people
Ask for $2 min. donation (change from $1) from Alumni to help offset costs
- Responsibilities:
- Brian P. - reserve table at Himmel Park starting at 9 a.m.
- Dave B. - Grill
- Lee Oler - alcohol permit, discussed to get by the case
- Dave O. - food (did last year); food supplying is salad, chips, veggies, hamburgers, veggyburgers, hot dogs, beer,
soda, water; also plates, cups, napkins, utensils
- Elizabeth-Anne - Sign-in sheet (name, address, e-mail)
- Activities planned: Volleyball - Pride has trophy, it needs
to get plaqued; and SOCIALIZING
- Pictures will be taken
- Dave O. & Gary S. will provide buttons for the UAAB Board
for recognition to other Alumni & the PRIDE
- Dave O. & John P. will make sure that there are trash
receptacles and recycle bins
- There needs to be promotion at as many band rehearsals as
possible and a head count of those planning on attending at
Friday’s rehearsal
- Post-Picnic Newsletter - deadline for articles is the picnic

- Jay R. - letter from the Director
