Present: Mike, Alli, Steve, John, Shirley, Andrew, Elizabeth-Anne, Dave O., and Bryan. Minutes from the last meeting were approved. The Treasurer’s Report is the same as last month, although Dave has not yet paid approximately $400 in picnic bills. Andrew will buy 15 cases of the leftover picnic soda at $5 each ($75) for his company.
Homecoming: Alli talked to Eve and we will be getting a larger tent for homecoming. E-mail update: Tents only come in one size, so we will get an additional tent, put it next to the first one, and split the cost with the PRIDE. It will cost us $80. The band office and Carol Petrozello will get the homecoming info from the School of Music blue cards to Dave Olson. The tailgate band at homecoming will be composed of current tailgate band members only, as they are the only ones who know the music and have complete music folders. A second band will be formed with other alumni musicians that will play “Bear Down” and “Fight Wildcats” around the stadium before the game. Anyone with band memorabilia is encouraged to contact Alli. These items will be given or loaned to Jay to put in the Eddie Lynch Pavilion.
Newsletter: Dave Olson will compile the newsletter after the meeting. We will add an article about the Men’s BB games in December. Alumni will need to sign up for these games and attend a morning rehearsal the day of the game in order to attend. We will also add an article about purchasing an Alumni Band tile. This will cost $600. Alumni will give input into what should be printed on the tile and are encouraged to donate money for its purchase.
Elections: Michelle Stribling was appointed to the remainder of Alli’s Member-at-Large term. Slate of Officer nominations: President-Elect: Mike Coyle; Secretary: Shirley Bayne; Treasurer: Steve Coyle; Members at Large: Dave Cole, John Prokop, and Steve Smith
Awards: Nominees for the annual awards were discussed.
New business: Elizabeth-Anne will buy a new tote for the music folders, as well as red and blue dots to mark the folders. Homecoming t-shirts will be the uniform for the half-time show. We will sell them. Cost TBD and may include the t-shirt with the Bear Down Bash ticket.
