UA Alunmi Band Board Meeting Minutes

Treasurers Report:
Current Balance $4000 (approx) in combined accounts
Outstanding bills None
New bills None
The accounts were changed at Wells Fargo so we no longer have to pay a service charge saving $60/yr.
A Tailgating Permit for one vehicle was purchased for about $250
Mike & Steve had an unscheduled meeting with Jay Rees and discussed possible fund raising / POA support activities. Jay suggested that he does not want us to fundraise directly for the POA or the proposed UAAB Scholarship but instead provide a few of the after game dinners.
After another meeting with Don Haskel, he suggested that they approach Papa Johns about providing three dinners (UAAB would provide the drinks) in exchange for advertising opportunities on campus. Papa Johns is interested but has not yet replied.
Jay said he can get the required clearances from the UA.
A location other than the Student Union would be needed, the Mall in front of the SU or the UAAB tailgate location was proposed.
Old Business: Tailgate Band/Site
As a continuation of an earlier meeting, it was decided that the UAAB Pep Band will purchase a Tailgate permit so that the UAAB can have a tailgate on the McKale Lawn prior to all home games. This will help to promote the UUAB amongst new Alumni as well as provide a meeting/rehearsal location. Call time will be at least 3 hours prior to game time.
New Business:
Alumni Night with the Pride : 18 Aug - Eegee’s to be served.
Awards & Recognitions: Think of nominations for this years FW award.
Ward Stevens has been nominated for the BD
Email Address: Blue cards need to be turned into the Alumni Assoc. If you have any, please contact Andrew. All information collected is to be forwarded to the Alumni Assoc. for input into their database.
Newsletter/ Mailings: Steve volunteered Mike (w/assistance) to create the next newsletter due out by 22 Aug. It will be sent via email to all UAAB members, hard copies will be mailed to AZ only. Mailing will be sent through the Alumni Assoc in order to take advantage of the hopefully free postage and design services they can provide. The UAAB will have to pay for the printing. All of this can be handled by the Alumni Assoc all we should have to provide is the copy.
Web Page: It was decided that instead of continuing to pay for the Freeservers page we will move the UAAB home page to the Alumni Assoc servers.
