Band picnic – Aug 21st, 2005

• Mike has sent emails to both the Phoenix alumni group and the Tucson and both have not responded to let us know if they would be interested in having us play for them at some events. Gonna put something in the email newletter to see if we can get a reaction that way.

  New letter: NAU night – Bus? Party Barge - Sportsman bus lines have a deal so may be good. Jay Rees needs to talk to NAU band to make sure they do not mind that we go. Athletics needs approve that we go. Like to do it as a performance but will do a social event. Mike will contact Rees to see if okay. Invite some of the POA that would like to go. Spread the word. Fund Raiser? Good to cover the bus.

  Mike will talk to Jay about the Pima situation. Get full details so we can figure out what is going on to possibly help if needed.

  Secretary:

• Newsletter: Articles, Homecoming: sum up what happened and if good or not. Football Schedule – take note that ASU is up there. Let us know if people that would want to go. See if we would like to go so we can get an alumni bus with the band or if others would like to just drive. Phoenix alumni, find out
  • NAU trip idea, tell people, have people respond if they want to go. Band@al.arizona.edu
  • Race for the cure did not happen.
  • Merchandise and what is available, have list. Will have new items soon. Pre orders taken now! If any one wants something new contact Steve.
  • Calling all Phoenix and Tucson Alums, let us know if events are coming up and if they are in need of the band playing.Band@al.arizona.edu
  • We are for hire!!! Do anything, Mitzvah!!!
  • Web pages, tell them to look for contact info.
  Have it ready by 21st of May, email to Andy to forward to Alumni Association.

• Secretary:

  Talk about the CD account. Will make about $82, with the CD that we established.
  Andy only spent about $49 on Rodeo, will pay back difference.
  Balance is ~4500 total checking and savings
  Ordering stuff when?
  Jackets need to order, should have caps, need to send Sheridan Lewis bucket hat, order more sweatshirts.
  Ordering new items, new logo?
  Like past logo, with Wildcat, with either logo above and below or all below.
  With out Century of Excellence on the logo,
  Brian Wolfs parents OWN a printing and embroidery, can they cut us a deal. Have to find out if they are authorized to do UA stuff.
  Find out what the pricing they give us here.
  Brian’s parents have to find out if they can be approved if not too much hassle.
  Colors, Red, match as close to traditional colors.
  What are we going to order?
  Jackets – type – coach’s jacket? Lined? Something warm. – Lined coach’s jacket!! Embroidered logo.
  Need to order 20 of each to get deal, need to order 10 or each size.

  Sweatshirts – hooded/front pocket/pullover and a reg sweatshirt getting in Red and Blue!

  Polo shirts – same style and quality – Color? Polyester or cotton? COTTON!!!!!
  Look at colors to not be as yucky as the ones before.

  Hats – we are good. Bucket hats – get some? No!

  CD matures in Late September!

• Old Business

  Rodeo – delivered sodas! $50, much rejoicing! Bought lots of water but didn’t go well, borrowed the Ice chests they were dead and want to get more to donate to the band!

  Move to purchase 4 large cooler to donate to POA, second, discussion.
  Can we borrow them or we donate two and we keep two.
  Buy 4 give two to the band, and keep two for ourselves, second, passes!

• New Business: Athletics will not let the band have the field until after November; looks like it will be on the 19th.

  Band Day is AFTER state. Many bands are very interested in coming still. Should be good turn out.

  Meet the Alumni band at Band camp on Aug 17th.

  Pins – what is going on with that? Or license plate’s frames. Like the frames idea. Look idea.

  Motion to buy license plates to be senior gifts and merchandise, second, amend to look at next year with response from seniors, passes!

• Next meeting: July 10th Sunday @ 11am, tentative, need response to know vacation schedule. Email if planning on being there or NOT!!!
